Anthro Craft - Finished!

Well, I finished the necklace, and I'm wearing it today. YAY! Some of my other ones broke, so sad, so they won't ever be posted... Oh well.

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend.

DIY Jewelry Storage

My room is near complete and it feels so right with my newest addition! Over the weekend I was extremely productive and finally got myself to South Pointe Market to get a shelf. I was sad to find out it is closing in 3 weekends —bummer, I will have to go back before then! It has antiques and used furniture, jewelry, clothes, etc... a thrifty heaven, not to mention everything is 50% off since it's closing! Anywho... got my shelf and painted it on Saturday and then I hung it and decorated with the help of my lovely friend Melyssa on Sunday! But prior to this, about a month ago, I had found a dresser on the street for a cheap $60 and I have just been awaiting a shelf to really bring it all together and house my extensive necklace collection!

This is my simple dresser project:

sanding, painting, and purchasing some new drawer handles

The shelf is a helpful addition to my room and adds quite a nice touch if I do say so myself! Check out the dresser/shelf combo:
This was a simple paint job and some nails to hang necklaces on and finito!!

DIY done

After reading this post a day or two ago, I was determined to make some sassy, sparkly shoes of my own! On my way home from work yesterday, I stopped and bought a pair of standard Walmart brand Vans look-a-likes, some glitter, and mod podge and had a little craft night with my roommate!

Check out my new kicks
(although adorable, I already got blisters within the first 20 minutes of wearing them at work.... UGH!!)

Lazy days

Stuffed peppers are easy to make and absolutely delicious! These are stuffed with wild rice, tomato, orange pepper, corn, and beans in a little lemon juice and topped with a little goat cheese!

I am obsessed with wine labels- as these two photos show! One day I'd love to travel around the world and design/redesign labels for vineyards.
I actually designed the one in the front for a graphic design project last year — I  selected the name "Incandescence" for the wine company. It was one of my favorite projects by far!

Work all the time leaves me with very little free time (other than the weekends) but after work I like to relax, and naturally I like my nails painted, and recently I've started to try fun things such as stripes, dots, colored french tips, etc. If you've get any great ideas for me to try, please let me know :)

This was inspired by my friend Catie! She recently got a job as well (a big congrats- I can tell she really loves it!) At her job she deals with a lot of the social media stuff and is always finding awesome new blogs- she found one with newsprint nails! Its super easy- you paint your nails, let it dry, dip you nails in rubbing alcohol, then cut out sections of the paper to adorn your nails as you please and use a q-tip or cotton ball to dab the newsprint on your nails. Presto! Just apply a coat of clear- and you're all set!
