Terrific Technology!

WOW! Check this out- first, the website is amazing in that it's all kick-starter projects, people with amazing ideas that are looking for investors and some funding to launch their ideas. Second, the way this world is headed never ceases to amaze me... A paint brush on a touch screen?! As an artist I would just love to try out this iPad paint brush- but I would have to invest in the iPad first...

Watch the video here and donate a dollar to help out!

Oh yeah... these are UH-mazing also... I've already emailed the creators to invest in some of these wonderful beans!

Check check-ch-check it outtt

Cozy Day

Today I just feel like being cozy! I currently have an oversized sweater on trying to keep warm at work... yet all I wanna do is curl up on the couch with coffee/tea, chocolate, and a great movie! For one, I still don't have a couch in my apartment and two it's not raining or snowing or even a tad dreary outside! Why do I feel like this? Hmph. In my internet search looking for something to entertain me, I came across a delicious fudge recipe... maybe, just maybe this gave way to my longing of coziness! I must make these chocolates one evening and curl up on the couch with a few... now begins the couch search so that can happen!!!

Shoes

Shoes found here

A huge weakness of mine is shoes!! I love shoes and would much rather shop for shoes than clothes. Think about it — your body is always changing and you're losing weight, gaining weight, what have you... but you stay the same shoe size from about age 17 on! My feet don't seem to change all that much, of course my preference on style does! But still, this philosophy helps me reason with my absurd spending on shoes!! No, I don't have anything this fancy, nor a fancy place to wear them... but a girl can dream... one day I will!!!

I love love

This weekend was one of my favorite weekends in a long time... I got to see a good friend incredibly happy and my lovely friends I made abroad in Italy in 2009. Although it has been over 2 years since most of us have been together, it was like we never left each other. Such a unique and special bond that we share from our experiences and adventures abroad, it's truly amazing! The lovely lady that made this all happen was Jackie — she got married this weekend!!! Eeek!! It's still unreal, as she is my first friend to get married, but I am so so happy for her. She looked stunning in her dress, honestly one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen! The reception was beautiful as well, and so much fun!! Danielle, Rachel, Sydney, MaKaela, Kenny, Nick, Kevin, and I were of course the first group on the dance floor and the last ones to leave! We all had too much fun and I was so sad to leave this morning...
I miss them all already!!

Bold Colors

The weekend is so close and I haven't blogged in almost a week! I am especially excited about this weekend because it's my friend's wedding :) I went to her bachelorette party and blogged about it then — so I cannot wait to take a thousand pictures this weekend and blog about it monday! I'm so excited for her and I know it will be beautiful!

I did these funky nails last week after seeing them on pintrest! I feel like it was an attempt to keep a little bit of summer alive. Don't get me wrong I love love the fall more than anything... but this weather has had me frustrated with what to wear! It's been raining a lot and has been 60-something, which is weird because it's generally warm in Ohio until the end of September/beginning of October.

Anyways, maybe I should redo these bold colors for the wedding considering I have yet to chose a dress! Yikes!!

Fancy Friends #2

I can't believe I didn't blog about my two fancy friends from UD making moves, designing, cooking, etc! Adam and Ed collaborated towards the end of senior year to make a fun, easy cookbook directed towards college kids! Ed, an amazing cook, prepared all the meals according to what he would normally cook for his 5 roommates, with 10 ingredients, and made the meals in under 30 minutes — hence the name! He also provided the recipes and copy for the book, while Adam photographed the dishes for the book and designed the lay-out!

Good work guys! I'm super proud of you — it looks amazing!!!!
So, you all need to check it out and by yourself one :)

Click here to purchase one and click here to check it out on facebook!

Giving Back

You most definitely need to check out One Mango Tree!!! Laura, one of my good friends from UD emailed me the other morning and told me to check it out! I am so glad I did — it benefits women and children in Uganda (the women make everything on the site) who have suffered due to the near 20 years of conflict!  It's a fair trade site as well, so the creators and hard workers recieve all of the profit. Support a good cause today :) I think I'm going to buy this cute little coin purse to hold laundry money!
Thank you thank you Getzy!! You always find me clever little things and I know you read my blog daily with a good cup of coffee! That's the way to do it — I appreciate your support!!!

Kids these days

Ever seen the show "Kids Say The Darndest Things" with host Bill Cosby? That show was too funny and I really wish they would do something similar, because I swear kids can say the most random things, yet their innocence makes even the coldest heart laugh! Like this little girl featured on youtube awhile back! She's so cute and genuinely scared of a monster coming out of her TV!! Anyways, this is what I stumbled across today that made me laugh!!!

Teachers have one of the most rewarding jobs (funny too!!)

Letterpress Inspiration

Melyssa, a college friend visited for the weekend because she had an interview at Victoria's Secret today!! Fingers crossed she gets the job because it would be so great to have another UD grad in the office! The bond coming from a smaller college, with basically an open door policy is unreal and makes reminiscing and sharing stories so much fun. Name dropping is easy and if you don't know who someone is talking about, you definitely know their friend, or a friend of a friend! It keeps you close and creates the most amazing connections (I actually got my job at VS because of an alum's recommendation- and I am so so grateful for that!!!). I could honestly gush about my college experience for days. I do miss it already, but I am lucky to have a little brother just starting his sophomore year! I get to visit whenever I please.

I clearly get side tracked when it comes to talking about dayton...
Sunday was our little funday to give Melyssa a taste of Columbus and the beautiful Short North. We had literally the 'best happy hour in the short north' at MAC — it was delicious and filling! We stopped in at Funky and Functional down the street on High, which had really unique pieces! Kind thrifty and vintage. I fell in love with an iron bird cage... but couldn't bring myself to spend the money on it before we move in October. My other little find were these letterpress letters... I searched all of the large ones for a J, O, or a W... I wanted one of my initials!! I had no luck... but looking at this I'll have to do some more research on ebay and other thrifty little stores for these letters!

These also make me think of one of my favorite professors at UD... John Clarke!!
My type 1&2 teacher — but that's another day... another post!

Artistic Finds

Reminds me of the commercial for coinstar- which I also thought was very clever and creative!!

DIY done

After reading this post a day or two ago, I was determined to make some sassy, sparkly shoes of my own! On my way home from work yesterday, I stopped and bought a pair of standard Walmart brand Vans look-a-likes, some glitter, and mod podge and had a little craft night with my roommate!

Check out my new kicks
(although adorable, I already got blisters within the first 20 minutes of wearing them at work.... UGH!!)

Just another day...

I honestly can say I work at the most amazing office ever!!! Today we had a fun associate appreciation day filled with fancy hours' devours, classy drinks, casino fun, and my favorite... Dualing pianos!! What a way to turn a rainy Columbus day into a fun afternoon with coworkers! Check out some iPhone pics I snapped today :)

Columbus Wine Festival

Well, weekend wise, I am a week behind on keeping up with my blog, but hopefully this week I can straighten that out! The Columbus Wine Festival hosted by Giant Eagle was last weekend (August 27th) at the Conservatory! It was a warm and beautiful day, and I was lucky enough to have some wonderful visitors!! Three of my college roommates, and Erin's boyfriend, Mike! We all had so much fun, a little too much wine, but many memorable laughs! These are some of my favorite photos/memories from that weekend!

The Conservatory- Must go back and go inside!
