The move & life after...

Upon moving into my new house, I immediately started work on my closet. My closet, by the way, is ginormous! It's like an additional bedroom. Oh, did I mention I have the attic room? It's a good size compared to my last bedroom, so the extra space is much appreciated! The closet work, pictured below, shows the transformation from blue to antique white. It is much more comfortable and homey! That handsome helper is my boyfriend Derek. He was eager to help out and it's always more fun to tackle a project like this with someone!

Anywho, it has been a few weeks now and the three of us are almost completely moved in! Last night, Erin, Courtney, and I had our first roommate dinner. Courtney fired up the grill and we drank wine and had a fantastic little meal on the back deck! I'm excited to finally be in-town this weekend to really break in the new house!

Windy City Love

I just adore Chicago and all of its charm! This past weekend, Sarah and I visited our college roommate who recently moved to the city, for Sarah's birthday weekend - mine was the weekend before and every year since sophomore year we have celebrated them together. Now, being in different cities (for now - she is soon moving back to Columbus- YAY), it is hard to round up all 7 of my roommates to get together for each birthday celebration. This weekend Margaret, Alyssa, and Sara Lyn were around to celebrate - but we are soon venturing back  to Chicago for T-Box and Sam will join us then!

Twelve bars of X-mas.... a bar crawl with Christmas costumes.
YUP. You guessed it; totally my kinda thing!

NYE Extravaganza

New Year's Eve this year was basically a reunion with a hundred of my closest friends from college. Haha, but really! Many of my friends met up in Chicago this year for NYE weekend. I had so SO much fun and I genuinely wish I could see everyone once a month! Oh these real world problems...

Here's a recap of our windy-city weekend :)

Kelsey & I

College Roommates (plus 2 friends)

25 Degrees

Alyssa, Chris, & I

Me, Kelsey, & Laura

Margaret & I

Amanda & Adam

Yes, my goofy roommates with their goofy glasses at the bar crawl that turned into everyone staying at one bar the entire day and well into the night! It might have been even more fun than NYE itself!!! We danced A TON!

Ran into a grade-school friend out and about in chicago!

Just a lovely weekend in general!! I got to see a ton of my wonderful friends from college in one of my very favorite cities!!!

Hope you all could spend NYE with friends or loved ones!

Monday blues...

I had such a wonderful weekend with my friends! My favorite was Saturday... we went on a beautiful walk on High Street and window shopped after breakfast at Northstar Cafe (yum!). We caught the end of the Ohio State game with some bloody marys at Bernards Tavern, then drove around for a bit so they could see the other highlights of Columbus! We went to dinner for margaritas and more mexican... and after we met up with some new friends on campus!!

Margaret, Sam, Alyssa, me, Catie, and Sarah

Lovely fall walk & drinks!

A wonderful B-day

My birthday was this past Tuesday and I turned to 23 :)
So many people made it so special... I really, REALLY appreciate my friends and family!!

Co-workers decorated my desk and the whole VS Creative Marketing Team sent me flowers (that are now on my desk, making me smile all day long). Friends came out for margaritas and fun after work. My roommate, Erin, surprised me with a blender and we finally got to try the infamous Margi-daiquiri-screw-alotta-on-the-beach!!!! Ha. Yes I am the type to get super excited for standard kitchen appliances! My mom sent me wonderful little gifts and I got good wishes and pretty cards from family members!!

Thanks to everyone who made 23 feel extra special! Xo

And now that it is Friday... my birthday celebrations continue... YAY! All 5 of my college roommates are coming to town to celebrate :) We will also celebrate Sarah's 23rd birthday on the 13th! So many fun adventures lie ahead of me for the weekend.. and it's almost time to leave work!

Ps. It's 11.11.11 — supposed to be a lucky day... make a wish!
Happy Friday All!!!

Busy Weekend

Move in weekend was a success! Well, minus a few dirty blinds, and an unfinished bathroom. Other than that, I am so glad to be at the new place and aside from moving, it was an eventful weekend all around! My good friend Catie came up from Cinci to be my mom/boyfriend and help me move! I am so grateful for my friends... and this weekend I was especially grateful for her :) I also did a lot of things I wouldn't have done with out her there... like hanging a rod in my closet for extra clothes, thrifting some cheap frames and a table to spray paint, and eating at Bodega and Marcella's! Oh yeah — and I can't forget to mention the fall flea!! My first time at a flea market like that, with vintage clothes, little plants, and antiques.
It was the perfect sunday afternoon.

Catie bought this awesome red scarf from my co-worker, Keli's booth! Super cute!

First time at Marcella's was delightful! We even got a seat next to the window... which I hear is very hard to come by there!

Birthday Celebrations

A celebratory shot in honor of the birthday girl Catie!

These are my lovely college roommates (I cannot believe I'm saying that—I wish they were still my wonderful roommates)! From left to right; Catie (the birthday girl), Alyssa, Sarah, Sam, and Margaret. We were all able to get together for a reunion in Cincinnati! We went out and celebrated at a few Mt Adams bars such as Pavilion and AliveOne. They were really fun and the view from Pavilion is something to see if you're ever in the area, especially at night! There's a thousand beautiful lights, and you can see the river and right on to Kentucky. I can't wait to go back! Although I would hope all of my roomies coud be there too :) Love you guys!!!
